Things.. of a thingness!
May. 20th, 2007 09:35 amLike most literate people, I think Dave Barry is one of the funniest men alive. I don't like all of his books, but I do have a bunch of them, including a large omnibus of three books which my grandmother gave me because I kept borrowing it. I was so grateful, I promptly lost the dust jacket. I even have a first edition of his first novel, which I'm pretty sure is in a box around here somewhere. Not a great story, but really funny. I used to have another omnibus with four books in it, but it turns out there are only so many times (like once) you can read Dave Barry's Guide to Marriage and/or Sex, Babies and Other Hazards of Sex, Stay Fit and Healthy Until You're Dead and Claw Your Way to the Top before they get old. So I sold it.
Anyway, it occurred to me recently that I need some more, since the most recent one I have is the one with the cover where he is sitting on the toilet in a comical outfit. I found that one at the library, of course.
I guess I should look him up and order some stuff at the library, as I am broke and my wishlist already has eighteen things I desperately want on it.
Steve and I had a long talk this morning about movies and actors and a remake we want to do that probably won't get beyond the casting-in-our-heads stage. It was fun.
I am very slowly working on a book keychain and trying to get off my ass and get other stuff done. I'm not sure, but this slump in creativity may have started when the neurologist upped my cymbalta dosage. I wish he would stop playing around with my brain chemistry.
I love you.
