I got this book because I like some of the art, and because I want to put blank pages in it. It turned out to be a sort of commonplace book put out by a greeting card company in 1971.
Some of the things are funny, most are lame.. the things in the section on "love" are mostly offensive.
Like they have this:
If a child lives with honesty, he learns what truth is.
If a child lives with fairness, he learns what justice is.
If a child lives with encouragement, he learns self-confidence.
If a child lives with fear, he learns to be apprehensive.
If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn.
Followed by this:
There would be less child delinquency if fewer parents would fall asleep at the switch.
Hello? Contradictory much?
Also, this one made me gag:
It's sad to think there is a whole generation
of little girls growing up who'll never know the thrill
of wearing mommy's long dresses.
Oh, and nothing in the whole book is credited except the person who gathered all this shit and the person who drew the illustrations.
