Libraries and the assault on paper
Jul. 8th, 2003 01:37 amIf you haven't read Double Fold by Nicholson Baker (025.2832 BAK) yet, I strongly suggest that you do. This story of the destruction of newspaper volumes and books to "preserve" them should be of interest to anyone who loves libraries, or, for that matter, books. I have to take it in small doses as my anger and astonishment overwhelm me.
You may think I'm exaggerating, but this is the one book I've read so far this year that I would recommend to EVERY book lover I know.
