so I can't get this off my mind..
Mar. 7th, 2001 03:37 amMy stepmother (Rona) and stepsister-in-law (Cindi) have this fondness for incredibly lame anti-male jokes. Now if they were funny it would be okay (things in jokes are only offensive to me when they aren't funny), but to me they're not funny, they're just sexist. To which I am told to "lighten up." Okay, hold on there. If these jokes were about women, those two would be the first up in arms.
Never mind that both of them are married to men nothing like the guys in the jokes, they still love the damn things.
Cindi, especially, has this anti-male rhetoric that is almost beyond belief. I can kind of understand it because of the things she's told me about her life.. but: this woman has a son. I worry about how her attitude (which she is passing on to her daughters) will affect him. She's even said that she thinks he has some built in problems just because he's male!
No, I don't know where I'm going with this. I'm just angry, thought I'd try to work it out.
ummm.. bye now.
