good news today

I got one of those free cel phones from the government! (Steve calls them "Obama Phones.") This is a big load off my mind because I was never going to be able to afford the $100 bucks it would cost to renew my old phone.

There is a problem, though. The new phone does not fold like my old one does. So not only am I worried about scratching it up with my keys, I'm worried about accidentally turning the damn thing on.

You can lock the keypad but it has to stay on the whole time, which will waste the battery.

So now I have to figure out how to make a cel phone case.

But at least I HAVE one.

And I just ran out of reruns at Bad Book Covers, which is probably for the best because I'm going to lose punkrockpenguin.net soon.

Also I reblogged some really good stuff on my movie blog, plus under the Godzilla shit there's a rundown on some stuff I watched.

So I have two pairs of regular shoes. One is really comfortable--except when I'm driving. The other pair is less comfortable but fine to drive in. And that pair is starting to come apart. So I was looking at shoes on amazon (wishlist, of course.. bah, humbug) last night, and it struck me that really nice shoes are just way out of my reach. Not that I have anyplace to wear them.
