I'm sorry I haven't written! I am trying to recover from what sent me to the hospital. I think it all started with the car crash?
Sunday morning I started bleeding again.
See, in April* the brakes of my car got squishy on the way to Steve's. I used the AAA membership Pete got me to get a truck to take it home. Then, when I had to go to therapy, Rona lent me her car. I was almost at my destination when her brakes went out and the car slid through a red light and into oncoming traffic.
Luckily, the people who hit me didn't get hurt and I didn't cause a pileup. However, the car was totaled and I had a broken rib. And when I got home from the hospital that night, my period had started.
It continued to be here for four months, often with flow so heavy I couldn't leave the house. I really did not expect this to stop on its own, because it never has before. A bit less than 2 weeks after my period stopped, I got some blood tests done for a couple of doctors. That was Friday. On Saturday I got a frantic call from someone and went to the ER.
My hemoglobin count, they said, was below the cutoff point, which was 7. Mine was 5. So I got admitted to the hospital and they started my first blood transfusion. All in all, they gave me 3 bags of blood and 3 bags of iron solution. I was in the hospital until Tuesday afternoon.
I sure wish I could just get a damn hysterectomy.
*I was wrong, it was March.
