So I tried pizza casserole again. I halved it and changed a lot of things. And it was delicious!

Here's how I doctored things up:
Instead of ground beef, I chopped up two slices of leftover meatloaf and most of a ham steak in the food processor. (If you are doing the big version you would need to use more meat.)
I put about 1/2 cup sharp cheddar on as a layer right before the first layer of noodles.
Part-skim mozzarella.
Lots more pepperoni.

What this casserole needed was a fuckload more FLAVOR.

It has come to my attention that the original recipe has disappeared. So I will try to reproduce it here. Hopefully I remember it right..

Pizza Casserole (big version)
1 lb ground beast
1 bag egg noodles
1 big jar tomato sauce
1 1/2 lbs shredded mozzarella
pepperoni

Cook the beef and the noodles. I would suggest lining your baking pan with kitchen parchment if you can. Put a very thin layer of sauce at the bottom of the pan. Then add half the meat, put half the noodles on top of that, then half the rest of the sauce, then half the cheese. Do that again and then top with pepperoni.

Cover pan with foil and bake at 350 F for 45 minutes (1/2 hour for half a batch). After 45 minutes, take off the foil and then bake the casserole for another 15 minutes.

Be sure to let this cool for at least 15 minutes after it comes out of the oven.
