I went over to Steve's on Saturday and we started a craft project so I didn't get home until tonight. We had a lot of fun. We're working on something really weird we hope to finish next weekend. Here's a preview:

There is glitter everywhere, and we were pretty careful. If it turns out, though, it will be awesome. Perhaps in the original sense of the word.

It has been a hell of a busy day today, friends and casual glancers.

I had an appointment at 7:45 AM, you see, wherein my driving instructor came by and we went up to the examination center and did a couple of run-throughs before I was scheduled. Then I took the driving test.

I PASSED! I passed, I passed, IpassedIpassedIpassed!

You are reading a licensed driver. Fear me. C'mon, fear me. Please?

Anyway, when I got home I ate some food and took possession of my new go phone (which I can't get to work, but that's another story) and called my brother. Then I borrowed the car.

I had a doughnut (but not in my father's car) and went to the book sale over where my brother used to live. On the way back I stopped for gas, which was embarrassing, but not disastrous.

And now I am very tired.

good news!

My driving test is scheduled for the end of next month. Wish me the luckiest of luck, I'm gonna need it.

I need lots more practice, so it's a good thing I'm driving down to Steve's tomorrow.

Oh, and I just ordered business cards. Let me know if you want some, I got the 250 free deal (actually costs $6.00) and I have to use them all before I get out of here. I envision sticking them in library books and ebay orders.

Today I got some neat things.

First, I got this guy. Isn't he cute? Those people have lots of neat things like him.

I also got Goblin Stompers! They are pretty much made out of awesome. I wore them inside the house, that's how much I love them.

So, what's up with you?

I love you!

oh my..

Okay, I'm quite excited about this. So I hope it makes sense.

Remember how my Nana is dead? Well, they finally sold her house, and my brother and I both got a check last weekend. I can't cash it yet, but most of my check is going toward learning to drive, getting a car, et cetera.

This is the neatest, scariest, most exciting thing since re-learning how to walk.

I know there will be problems, but I am trying to stay positive about this. Last time I tried (about 10 years ago), Rona was not very supportive--I doubt she will be any better now.

Fingers crossed that I get get out there and start polluting too!

I have been experiencing so much good stuff the past couple of days that I'm getting really suspicious. Clearly, I'm being set up for a fall.

Neat stuff:
Got Joe R. Lansdale's new novel from the library yesterday.
Steve's movies sold for a bunch of money.
Today I was notified that I won a drawing at the library.
The prize is a 200 dollar gift certificate to a grocery store.
And Jeffrey called me!

[edit:] And I forgot, I got a birthday card from Jeffrey yesterday. It was all froggy!

Or, what I picked up at the library today (copy & pasted from e-mails because of elbow).

Damn, I love books.

I finally got my father to make brownies last night. (I would have made them myself, but my gluten-free fu is weak.) They're a little ricy, but chocolaty heaven nonetheless.

I am hoping to do my shipping and shop at the library today. Also I have two book blocks that need to be cased in.

It's okay that the kid fantasy lot didn't sell because I have two more books to add to it.

Holy christ I love brownies. They made my headache fade away.

From yesterday's paper:

Today was nifty! Someone sent me the new Little Dee book! And it's not only signed, it has a drawing of Blake saying it's for me! So I feel all warm and fuzzy.

I also found a whole buttload of sci-fi and fantasy paperbacks at the library today. So I have stuff to sell that might actually sell!

And it's finally raining.

Today was nifty.

Fifty dollars, of which I spent forty-five at the big library book sale and the other five at the local library. You get so many books this way!

And Steve gave me Gamera the Brave, a story about a boy and his magic turtle. Too sappy, but most of the monsters were cool. This was a present as well:
Isn't he perfect?

Hot shit!

The scanner showed up maybe an hour ago.

This makes me wonder what would have happened if I'd paid the extra three bucks for "expedited service." Maybe they employ The Flash.

Anyway, it works:
Handmade bookcloth from old gray jeans. Gray endpapers, pages are graph paper. Glass penguin bead on end of bookmark.

Smaller, better-looking book keychains.

go me.

I just put the 1,500th entry into the memories of my book journal, [ profile] bookfrog. That's more than that many books!

Also, I am turning 33 on August 4th.

Kaa finally shit!

My father and I are so proud..
honeymonster: (gronk!)
I just got the Norb book today. You really shouldn't have, but I'm glad you did anyway. I won't finish it as fast as I'd like, as I'm afraid to take it to the doctor with me.

Today I got a package from [ profile] joiseyguy! Eee! Thanks, man.

Steve gave me a really neat Gamera Action figure and a book by Kate Wilhelm. And the kids gave me a t-shirt.. a really dumb t-shirt. Oh well. Plus Devon decorated the polar bear pin bookmark I gave her and gave it back to me. And I got some money.

The feast day was decent, noisy and long. How was yours?

I am really high right now. Which is weird. becuase I haven't taken anything besides what I always take, but I woke up and there were all these neat.. shapes behind my eyelids and I was singing a song from my dream that included razzberries and giggling and scaring the cat. and I feel really oddly disconnected and happy. If this is something broken in my brain I would like to learn what so that I may feel like this all the time because it is awesome.

I loves you.

No corections so you'll be leive me. Also, typing faster than usual is fun. whee. thbbbt! dooba dooba dooo.. hee hee hee.

So, in the last mail delivery was a package with three things I really wanted off my amazon wishlist. Thank you, "anonymous"! I love you!

Though I don't think I can review Gojira until I see it again.

How cool is this? Somebody sent me an Awl Guide! I've already used it. You should have seen me, happy as a swine in excrement, poking holes in signatures with the cute little awl.

The significance of this is that I no longer have to make little paper patterns for hole placement when I want to sew a book together.

So, thank you very much. I love you. Kiss noises!
